About the Artist:
Rachel Darling is an independent alternative/pop artist from Wilmington, NC. Some of her musical influences include The 1975, John Mayer, Taylor Swift, Matchbox Twenty, and many more of the like.
Originally from North Augusta, South Carolina, Rachel Darling (née Economos) has been passionate about music for over 20 years. Her parents bought her first guitar in the Christmas of the 2000’s. Saving the present until absolute last, hiding it in the back bedroom, sent Rachel into despair before revealing that Santa brought it after all. That one Christmas gift would change the trajectory of her life. She would spend the next 2 decades filling her family home with music from her bedroom. Not only does Rachel sing and play guitar, but she also plays the drums, piano, and bass. In high school, Rachel was a member of North Augusta High School’s marching band-which taught her how to read music and work with other musicians in an ensemble.
Some of her achievements including winning Battle of the Bands in North Augusta in 2013 and receiving an honorable mention at the University of South Carolina Aiken Talent Show of 2014 where she ultimately graduated college with a Marketing degree. She has been on a musical hiatus for quite some time but is back in full force.
Rachel is currently writing music to release and continuing to play live shows in her current hometown of Wilmington, NC. Working on building her music portfolio is her main priority.
